HoboEye Art:
Courtney Blazon, Missoula, MT

Courtney Blazon is a graduate of Parsons School of Design, where she received a BFA in illustration. She is working as an artist, freelance illustrator, and book maker in Missoula, Montana.

Her work has been featured at various local and regional art galleries and venues, at the Missoula Art Museum, on Juxtapoz.com, as well as the Western edition of New American Paintings in October 2007. She has illustrated for Slumgullion, Montana Lyric Opera, Missoula Oblongata, as well as a variety of magazines and publications.

She has a booth at the Missoula People's Market, which runs from May-October in downtown Missoula, and she participates in art fairs and alternative venues such as the Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco and the Portland Zine Symposium in Portland, OR. Along with her booth at the People's Market, her handmade goods can be found at Tart in Bozeman, Tender Loving Empire in Portland, OR, at The Shop at ZACC in Missoula, MT, and on her etsy site: courtneyblazon.etsy.com (she is in the process of updating both her shop on here on her website as well as her etsy site).

She is currently working on/planning/researching the following projects:

1 .A series of drawings dealing with fathers and daughters called "My hand looks like your hand", to be exhibited at Tart gallery in June 2009.

2. A historical drawing project about the destroyed ski resort on Mt. Uncanoonuc in New Hampshire.

3. An alphabetical sketchbook project.

4. A historical project that deals with the relationships of the Native Americans to the French Canadians in early New England.

5. A Boy-Girl romance sketchbook project with brush painting.

6. A "Missoula is the Cairo of the Northwest" large scale drawing.

She is inspired by nature, nostalgia, black and white movies, history, words, memory, and a little bit of everything else.
